Don’t ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody.

In slavic folklore today
I learned they sleep on the stove in the wintertime, go to the bathroom to give birth, and the males stay at home when they get married. So far the most interesting class I have taken yet.
Tibetan creation story →
This semester I am taking Tibetan Buddhism. In the chapter I read today I learned that they believed that they are descendants of a monkey and an ogress (female ogre). Future wacky stories are anticipated and shall be well received.

Now I Just Feel Bad for people who oppose Prop 8 →
Instead of loathing people who are against gay marriage I now feel bad for them. They are simply ignorant and influenced by their backgrounds. Because of a lack of understanding and knowledge, they decide to oppose whatever scares them.
Back in the other C-Ville
A bit depressing now because not everyone is here but this shall be an interesting semester. Russian History since 1917, Slavic folklore, German (again!), Ethics class, and another Astronomy course.
The workload is undesired but this semester I plan to stop complaining and just study more. I hope to succeed.
3 movies
in one day. I have never done that before yesterday.
On the queue:
1.) The Proposal (2009, Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, Betty White)- surprisingly good. The main disappointment was that the “Alaska” scenes were filmed in Massachusetts. However, Betty White kicked ass as the quirky grandma.
2.) Julie and Julia (2009, Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, Stanley Tucci)- a nice juxtaposition of...

Knowledge=what I have
Wisdom= what I aim for
Today I get to watch Its Academic at high school again. So pumped.

Haiti Earthquake Relief →
A tragedy for an already tragic region.
Does God just hate this place or has he simply left it? Anyway enough of the political stuff on to the country of the day.
Burj Khalifa? WTF? →
So apparently they decide to change the name of the building I have been following constuction on for the last 5 years. I guess money does rule the world.
It will always be the the Burj Dubai to me. :/
My first True Volunteer Work Experience
I arrived home today from Honduras on what has been one of the most life changing experiences of my life. Words would only limit what I have experienced in the last week so only advice can suffice:
Volunteer in a third world country. Any country at all. Find a legitimate organization to help fulfill this task and get involved. Make a difference in the life of others.
Sure I can rant and rave...
Honduras
Today I pack for the trip. What was once fear has been replace with excitement and I look forward to my formal introduction to Central America.
Country number 20 is just around the corner and for the first time since I turned 2 I will have been to more countries than my age. Bring it on.
