It has become mostly implicit and in this form is everywhere and everything. Explicit racism is still around as well but not as common. However a friend of mine was a victim of it recently. She was walking by a group of drunk white girls when they say something about black people being able to jump higher. My friend says under her breath fucking white people and THEN ONE OF THE GIRLS SHOUTS “UM YOUR ARE THE INFERIOR RACE”
SMH SMH SMH I love UVA but can be so ashamed too. -_-
I am greatly entertained right now. All the uber conservative friends of my mom are posting stuff about it on her wall. lol
I know I have lived here 11 years and often I just say “oh yeah I live there” but today I got all existential about it and thought about how it has become a part of my identity. I often think of other states but never really think of my own state because I am here already. I mean I talk about moving out but will Virginia ever move out of me? Good questions as I move into another part of my life soon.
My birthplace (Bury St. Edmunds, England, UK) is the lowest elevation by 1 foot. And I have lived on the coast of Mississippi which was devastated later on by Hurricane Katrina.
